Arbres et trottoirs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De nouveaux trottoirs !  La Ville de Bruxelles a entam\u00e9 la r\u00e9novation de plusieurs trottoirs dans le quartier.  Il s\u2019agit plus exactement de s\u00e9curisation des carrefours. Celle-ci avait \u00e9t\u00e9 demand\u00e9e par des parents inquiets pour leurs enfants.  Les carrefours des rues Jenneval, Bordiau, Tocsin, Charles Quint, Inquisition, Calvin et Le Titien ont fait peau neuve.  \u00c0 cette occasion, la Ville a renforc\u00e9 la pr\u00e9sence des arbres dans notre quartier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les oubli\u00e9es : abeilles et gu\u00eapes solitaires<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De nombreuses abeilles et gu\u00eapes solitaires habitent le quartier. Elles ne sont pas dangereuses et ne piquent pas. Elles se “logent” entre les pav\u00e9s. Depuis des ann\u00e9es, le GAQ demande \u00e0 la Ville de Bruxelles de ne pas les oublier lors des r\u00e9novations des trottoirs. En cimentant les pav\u00e9s au lieu de les poser dans le sable, ces insectes sont priv\u00e9s de leur habitat. Boulevard Clovis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les travaux du boulevard Clovis semblent enfin termin\u00e9s. La qui\u00e9tude est revenue pour les riverains de cette art\u00e8re embl\u00e9matique du quartier. Cependant, l’inauguration se fait attendre, pour des raisons encore inconnues. Les enfants, impatients, ont du mal \u00e0 attendre l’ouverture officielle de leurs aires de jeux. Plus d\u2019information sur notre site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Totems d’information sur les places<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s des ann\u00e9es de demandes de la part du GAQ, la Ville de Bruxelles a install\u00e9 une s\u00e9rie de totems d’information magnifiquement illustr\u00e9s \u00e0 chaque entr\u00e9e des places du quartier. Chaque panneau est unique et offre un aper\u00e7u d\u00e9taill\u00e9 de l’histoire des places et de leur environnement. C’est tr\u00e8s bien fait !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mai 2021 :<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je soumets un certain nombre de propositions de projets. Des projets qui, selon moi, am\u00e9lioreraient notre quartier. La plupart d’entre eux sont rejet\u00e9s. Fait amusant, la ville a depuis mis en \u0153uvre l’un de mes projets rejet\u00e9s, \u00e0 savoir l’achat d’un radar sonore pour verbaliser les v\u00e9hicules bruyants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ma proposition retenue consiste \u00e0 r\u00e9nover le terrain de basket et de football du square Marguerite. En fait, je ne m’int\u00e9resse pas beaucoup au football, mais je l’ai inscrit au projet pour \u00eatre s\u00fbr de gagner le concours. Le football est plus populaire que le basket, apr\u00e8s tout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y avait-il un probl\u00e8me avec le terrain de basket ? Plusieurs choses m\u00eame : les marquages n’ont jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 adapt\u00e9s aux nouvelles r\u00e8gles du jeu de 2008 ( !!!), et les anneaux sont accroch\u00e9s bien plus bas que la hauteur officielle.  Mon projet pr\u00e9voyait de remplacer le rev\u00eatement en asphalte par un rev\u00eatement en granul\u00e9s de caoutchouc. Plus doux pour les articulations et plus silencieux pour les riverains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Septembre 2021 :<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme pr\u00e9vu, mon projet remporte haut la main le concours de projets. Je contacte la responsable de l\u2019accompagnement du projet. Elle ne parle pas le n\u00e9erlandais. Sp\u00e9cial. La prochaine fois, je proposerai un projet pour apprendre les langues nationales aux fonctionnaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rien entendu ni vu concernant mon projet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mars 2023 :<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On me met par erreur en copie d’un email entre des fonctionnaires en conversation enjou\u00e9e. Je leur signale que je suis disponible \u00e0 les rencontrer pour \u00e9valuer la situation du terrain sur place. Nous sommes d’accord et une fois sur les lieux, je r\u00e9explique le projet. Je signale aussi que les anneaux sont positionn\u00e9s incorrectement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On me dit qu’un rev\u00eatement en granul\u00e9s de caoutchouc n’est pas possible, car la Ville de Bruxelles ne travaille pas avec ce type de mat\u00e9riau. Je fais remarquer que le terrain de basket du parc du Cinquantenaire dispose d’un tel rev\u00eatement. On me dit que le parc du Cinquantenaire est g\u00e9r\u00e9 par la r\u00e9gion et que la Ville de Bruxelles applique des r\u00e8gles diff\u00e9rentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je demande si cela ne permettrait pas de d\u00e9gager du budget pour repeindre le terrain de mani\u00e8re un peu plus \u00e9l\u00e9gante. Difficile, me r\u00e9pond-on, car le site est prot\u00e9g\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juin 2023 :<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je suis invit\u00e9 \u00e0 une r\u00e9ception organis\u00e9e par la Ville. En raison de ma contribution \u00aben tant que b\u00e9n\u00e9vole\u00bb \u00e0 la ville.  Pour ce qui est de cette contribution, elle n\u2019a finalement pas \u00e9t\u00e9 trop impressionnante. La r\u00e9daction de cet article m\u2019a pris plus de temps. Et, en termes de r\u00e9sultats, apr\u00e8s plus de deux ans, rien n’a chang\u00e9 sur le terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais pendant la r\u00e9ception, il y a eu des discours, des concerts et un com\u00e9dien. Des snacks et des boissons. Il n’y avait pas de coca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus tard, en 2023 :<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les anneaux sont accroch\u00e9s \u00e0 la bonne hauteur ! Mais les filets ont disparu. Je ne les ai jamais revus. Pourtant, un jeu de filets de basket ne co\u00fbte que 15 \u20ac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juin 2024 :<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des nouveaux marquages ! On ne m’a rien dit mais ils ont repeint les marquages. Conform\u00e9ment aux \u00abnouvelles\u00bb r\u00e8gles du jeu de 2008. Objectivement, la situation s’est am\u00e9lior\u00e9e. Je pense qu’ils ont maintenant termin\u00e9 les travaux. Mais il n’y a toujours pas de filets aux anneaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le budget de mon projet \u00e9tait de 60 000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entre-temps, sur l’avenue Clovis, la Ville de Bruxelles a install\u00e9 une aire de jeux avec un rev\u00eatement en granul\u00e9s de caoutchouc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9s il y +\/- 15 ans avec des r\u00e9sultats probants. Mais, avec l\u2019installation des parcm\u00e8tres en 2022, ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enlev\u00e9s avec comme cons\u00e9quences le retour des camions, camionnettes, \u00e9l\u00e9vateurs, d\u00e9panneuses, \u2026 dans le quartier. Le pavillon Van Oudenhove enfin r\u00e9habilit\u00e9 et \u00e9quip\u00e9 ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le passant a remarqu\u00e9 la reprise des travaux au pavillon Van Oudenhove (situ\u00e9 dans le Parc du Cinquantenaire derri\u00e8re la grande mosqu\u00e9e). Ce pavillon \u00e9tait l\u2019objet d\u2019un projet introduit par le GAQ pour financement par le budget participatif. Un incendie du toit en 2022 a compliqu\u00e9 et retard\u00e9 la mise en \u0153uvre du projet. Les fonds initialement allou\u00e9s pour l\u2019\u00e9quipement d\u2019une grande salle polyvalente ont d\u00fb \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour refaire le toit et d\u00e9samianter le b\u00e2timent. Aujourd\u2019hui les travaux reprennent. Les associations du quartier pourront-elles bient\u00f4t faire usage du lieu ? \u00c0 suivre.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bomen en voetpaden<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nieuwe voetpaden!\u00a0\u00a0De Stad Brussel is begonnen met de renovatie van verschillende voetpaden in de wijk.\u00a0\u00a0Het ging erom kruispunten veiliger te maken. Dit werd gevraagd door ouders die zich zorgen maakten voor hun kinderen.\u00a0\u00a0De kruispunten in de Jennevalstraat, de Bordiaustraat, de Stormklokstraat, de Keizer Karelstraat, de Inquisitiestraat, de Calvijnstraat en de Titiaanstraat hebben allemaal een opknapbeurt gekregen.\u00a0\u00a0Tegelijkertijd heeft de stad er een aantal bomen aan toegevoegd in onze wijk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ze worden vergeten: solitaire bijen en wespen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In de buurt leven veel solitaire bijen en wespen. Ze zijn niet gevaarlijk en steken niet. Ze \u201cnestelen\u201d zich tussen de straatstenen. Al jaren vraagt de GAQ aan de Stad Brussel om ze niet te vergeten bij de renovatie van de voetpaden. Door de straatkasseien te cementeren in plaats van ze in zand te leggen, wordt deze insecten hun habitat ontnomen. Clovislaan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De werkzaamheden aan de Clovislaan lijken eindelijk te zijn afgerond. De bewoners die langs deze emblematische verkeersader wonen hebben hun rust hervonden. De offici\u00eble inhuldiging laat om onbekende redenen echter nog op zich wachten. Ongeduldige kinderen wachten vol spanning op de offici\u00eble opening van hun speelpleintje. Volg hier voor updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Informatietotems op de squares<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al jaren vraagt de GAQ om meer informatieve borden in de wijk. Nu heeft de Stad Brussel een reeks prachtig ge\u00efllustreerde informatiezuilen geplaatst bij elke ingang van de squares in de wijk. Elk paneel is uniek en biedt een inzicht in de geschiedenis van de squares en hun omgeving. Heel mooi gedaan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mei 2021:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ik dien een aantal projectvoorstellen in. Projecten die volgens mij onze wijk zouden verbeteren. De meeste worden geweigerd. Grappig genoeg heeft de stad ondertussen een van mijn geweigerde projecten uitgevoerd, nl. de aankoop van een geluidsradar om luidruchtige voertuigen te verbaliseren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mijn overlevend voorstel zou het basket- en voetbalpleintje op het Margaretasquare renoveren. Eigenlijk kan voetbal mij niet zoveel schelen, maar ik zette het erbij om zeker de projectcompetitie te winnen. Voetbal is nu eenmaal populairder dan basketbal..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was er iets mis met het basketpleintje? Best veel. De lijnen heeft men nooit aangepast aan de nieuwe spelregels uit 2008 (!!), en de ringen hangen veel lager dan de offici\u00eble hoogte. Het project wil de ondergrond uit asfalt vervangen door een van rubbergranulaten. Zachter voor de gewrichten en stiller voor de omwonenden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September 2021:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoals gepland wint mijn project vlotjes de projectcompetitie. Ik neem contact op met de trajectbegeleidster. Ze spreekt geen Nederlands. Bijzonder.  Volgende keer ga ik een project voorstellen om ambtenaren landstalen aan te leren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaar 2022:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niets gehoord en niets gezien ivm mijn project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maart 2023:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ik word per abuis in cc gezet van een email tussen de bedrijvige ambtenaren. Ik zeg dat ik gerust wil afspreken om ter plekke te kijken. We spreken af en ter plekke leg ik het project nog eens uit. Ik vertel hen ook dat de ringen te laag hangen, en dat dit niet ok is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Men vertelt mij dat een ondergrond in rubbergranulaten niet kan, omdat Stad Brussel niet met dit materiaal werkt. Ik merk op dat het basketplein in het Jubelpark wel zo’n ondergrond heeft. Men vertelt mij dat de uitbating van het Jubelpark door het gewest gebeurt, en dat de Stad Brussel andere regels hanteert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ik vraag of er dan misschien budget vrijkomt om het terrein wat hipper te schilderen. Moeilijk, klinkt het antwoord, want het uitzicht is beschermd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juni 2023:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ik ben uitgenodigd op een receptie georganiseerd door de Stad. Vanwege mijn bijdrage ‘als vrijwilliger’ voor de stad. Mijn bijdrage viel al bij al nog mee. Dit stukje schrijven nam meer tijd in beslag. En na meer dan twee jaar is er nog niets veranderd op het terrein. Er zijn speeches, concerten en een komiek. Hapjes en drankjes. Cola was niet te verkrijgen op de receptie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later in 2023<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De ringen worden op de correcte hoogte opgehangen. Maar de netten verdwijnen. Ik zie ze nooit meer terug. Een setje basketnetten kost nochtans maar 15\u20ac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juni 2024<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nieuwe lijnen! Mij werd niets verteld maar ze hebben de lijnen opnieuw geschilderd.  Conform de ‘nieuwe’ spelregels uit 2008. Objectief gesproken is de situatie verbeterd. Ik denk dat ze nu klaar zijn met het werk. Er hangen wel nog steeds geen netten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Op de Clovislaan heeft Stad Brussel ondertussen een speelplein aangelegd met een een ondergrond van rubbergranulaten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Herhaalde vraag naar E9B panelen <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ze werden zo’n 15 jaar geleden ge\u00efnstalleerd met positieve resultaten. Maar met de installatie van parkeermeters in 2022 werden ze verwijderd, wat resulteerde in de terugkeer van vrachtwagens, bestelwagens, vorkheftrucks, takelwagens, enz. in de buurt. Na herhaalde verzoeken van het Comit\u00e9 van de Lutherstraat om de borden terug te plaatsen, is er niets gebeurd (meer op deze site).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een mooie gevel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De zwarte gevel van de Jennevalstraat 8, het laatste overblijfsel van het kolengestookte tijdperk, is opgeknapt. Hier is een prachtige voor- en na-foto. Proficiat aan de eigenaars!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het Van Oudenhove paviljoen eindelijk gerestaureerd en ingericht?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wandelaars zullen gemerkt hebben dat de werkzaamheden aan het Van Oudenhoven paviljoen (gelegen in het Jubelpark achter de Grote Moskee) zijn hervat. Dit paviljoen was het onderwerp van een project dat door de GAQ werd ingediend voor financiering via de burgerbegroting. In 2022 ontstond er jammer genoeg een brand op het dak, wat de uitvoering van het project bemoeilijkte en vertraagde. De middelen die oorspronkelijk waren toegewezen voor de inrichting van een grote polyvalente zaal moesten worden gebruikt om het dak te vernieuwen en asbest uit het gebouw te verwijderen. De werkzaamheden worden nu hervat. Zullen lokale verenigingen binnenkort gebruik kunnen maken van deze ruimte?\u00a0Wordt vervolgd.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trees and pavements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New pavements!  The City of Brussels has begun renovating several pavements in the district.  To be more precise, the work involves making the junctions safer. This was requested by worried parents.  The junctions at rue Jenneval, rue Bordiau, rue Tocsin, rue Charles Quint, rue de l\u2019Inquisition, rue Calvin and rue Le Titien have all had a facelift.  To mark the occasion, the City has increased the number of trees in our neighbourhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forgotten ones: solitary bees and wasps<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many solitary bees and wasps live in the neighbourhood. They are not dangerous and do not sting. They \u2018lodge\u2019 between the pavement stones. For years, the GAQ has been asking the City of Brussels not to forget them when renovating the pavements. By cementing the stones instead of laying them in sand, these insects are deprived of their habitat. Boulevard Clovis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work on the boulevard Clovis finally seems to be complete. Residents living along this emblematic thoroughfare have returned to peace and quiet. However, the inauguration is still some way off, for reasons as yet unknown. Impatient children are having a hard time waiting for the official opening of their play areas. More follow up information on this site later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information totems in the Squares<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After years of requests by the GAQ, the City of Brussels has installed a series of beautifully illustrated information totems at each entrance to the district’s squares. Each panel is unique, offering detailed insights into the history of the squares and their surroundings. Very nicely done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May 2021:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I submited a number of project proposals. Projects that I believe would improve our neighbourhood. Most of them are rejected. Funnily enough, the city has since implemented one of my rejected projects, namely the purchase of a sound radar to fine noisy vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My surviving proposal aimed at renovating the basketball and football court at Square Marguerite: Actually, I don’t care much about football, but I put it in to be sure to win the project competition. Football is more popular than basketball, after all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was there anything wrong with the basketball court? Quite a lot. They never adapted the floor markings to the 2008 (!!!)  new rules of play, and the rings hang much lower than the official height. The project aimed to replace the asphalt surface with one made of rubber granules. Softer for joints and quieter for local residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September 2021:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As planned, my project smoothly won the competition. I contact the project implementation supervisor. She does not speak Dutch. Special. Next time, I will propose a project to teach civil servants country languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 2022:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing heard and nothing seen regarding my project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

March 2023:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am mistakenly put in copy of an email between officials. I signal them that I would be happy to meet to check on the spot. We agree and, on site, I explain the project again. I also tell them that the rings hang too low, and that this is not ok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am told that a surface in rubber granules is not possible, because the City of Brussels does not work with this material. I note that the basketball court in Cinquantenaire Park does have such a surface. I am told that the Cinquantenaire Park is run by the region, and that the City of Brussels applies different rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ask if that might free up budget to apply  a hipper paint to the grounds. Difficult, sounds the reply, because the view is protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

June 2023:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am invited to a reception organised by the City. Because of my contribution \u2018as a volunteer\u2019 for the city.  All in all, my contribution was rather small. Writing this piece took more time. And after more than two years, nothing has changed on the ground. There were speeches, concerts and a comedian. Snacks and drinks. Coke was not available at the reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later in 2023:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rings will be hung at the correct height.  But the nets have disappeared. I never saw them again. A set of basketball nets costs only 15\u20ac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

June 2024:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New floor lines! I was not informed but they have repainted the floor lines. In line with the \u2018new\u2019 rules of the game from 2008. Objectively speaking, the situation has improved. I think they have now finished the work. There are still no nets hanging, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The budget for my project was \u20ac60,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Van Oudenhove pavilion finally restored and equipped?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passers-by will have noticed that work has resumed at the Van Oudenhove pavilion (located in the Parc du Cinquantenaire behind the Grand Mosque). This pavilion was the subject of a project submitted by the GAQ for funding through the participatory budget. A fire on the roof in 2022 complicated and delayed the implementation of the project. The funds initially allocated for equipping a large multi-purpose hall had to be used to redo the roof and remove asbestos from the building. Work is now resuming. Will local associations soon be able to use the space? To be continued.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
