LES MARDIS DU G A Q

From now on, please refer to these meetings not as GAQ monthly meetings, but as

“Les Mardis du G A Q”

Throughout this year, we will be inviting guests related to the general theme of the year, which will be the common thread.
This year, we will be focusing on what is known as “small urban heritage”. (Almost) all of the houses in the neighbourhood have remarkable decorative features that deserve to be protected.

Part One

Our first guest will be Mr Vincent Heymans
Born in Brussels, Vincent Heymans has a degree in art history and archaeology and a PhD in Philosophy and Literature. He heads the City of Brussels’ Historical Heritage Unit, which is responsible for managing and promoting the city’s architectural heritage. Read more here.

His presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.

Part Two

1/ Approval of the minutes of the 2 September meeting and agenda for the meeting

2/ GAQ party/flea market

The flea market remains the GAQ’s core activity. It is very well received and satisfies participants, both flea market traders and service providers such as the food truck, l’Ecole du Cirque, the brass band, etc. The Board of Directors would like to thank the driving forces behind the operation, their families and friends, without whom the flea market could not take place.
A total of 144 plots (out of 149 available) were rented.

3/ Infor-Quartier

The administrators extends its gratitude to the key actors to the operation, their families, and friends, without whom the flea market would not have been possible.
They have decided to postpone discussion of the future of IQ and the most appropriate format until the next meeting. This will be considered in the context of the GAQ’s overall communication with its members and residents.

4/ Mobility

The GAQ will send a letter supporting the residents of Avenue de la Brabançonne in their request for measures to reduce traffic nuisance.

As for the Schuman construction site, it seems to be moving further and further away from the promised “green space”.

5/ Miscellaneous

We hope to see many of you at the meeting!!!
