Petition to save the Ambiorix Maison de Quartier

At the Municipal Council of the City of Brussels,

The GAQ (The Residents’ Committee of Brussels’ European Quarter) has, from the very outset, always sought to ensure the harmonious development of the neighbourhood, to encourage interaction amongst its residents, and to defend, improve and promote quality of life, heritage protection, awareness of climate change and cultural activities, particularly with a view to lifelong learning and the promotion of civic participation.

The aim of this petition is to prevent the sale of the Community Centre at Square Ambiorix.

This centre serves not only as a venue for socialising, meetings and exhibitions, but also as a social project: it helps to alleviate the loneliness of isolated or elderly people.

Thanks to its location, it acts as a link between the residential area and the office district.

It also fosters intergenerational connections.

It is ideally situated in the heart of the Squares district.
